Conservation Status: Near Threatened
The species prefers shallow inshore waters; are found over reef ledges and sandy flats.
Lenght: 1.6 - 2m
Litter size: typically 4
Major threats: Commerical fishing. The meat, liver oil and fins are used.
It was discovered that Juvenile Blacktip Reef Sharks
react to a very low air pressure and that they had
"detected" a hurricane in advance.
