Garbage Patch:

More and more litter is being dumped into the oceans. With the ocean currents, all that garbage gets concentrated at specific locations in the Sea. One of the most famous ones is the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, which extends over about 10 million square kilometers.

Some animals eat that plastic and suffocate or can't eat anything else anmore because their stomachs are full. Most of these individuals die.
